So, who is Roman Catholic here and what do you all think of the recent appearances of the Holy Mother in our century. Aug 3, 1, 3 0. I'm byzantine rite Catholic myself. However I am leery of these particular visions. Namely because the ones reporting them are ignoring their bishop's directions regarding them.
Hi Dscerck - what do you mean they are disregarding their bishop's directions? I haven't heard anything of that. Rosewater Guest Apr 10, Last edited by a moderator: Apr 12, PneumaPsucheSoma Banned Apr 10, Feb 23, 1, 13 0. Rosewater said:.
Aug 2, 23, 3, I am Roman Catholic and I believe Medjugorje is a place of great conversions and that there is something supernatural going on there. Not just the seers but other things like people seeing mysterious priests or nuns who help them as they ascend Mt. Krizievic spelling? I have a very critical thinking mind yet I do believe in this place and in the visionaries there. I will NOT get into any discussions about it here on this site however.
This forum is certainly no place for catholics.
If you want to ask me anything please PM me and I will be glad to answer your questions. Last edited: Apr 10, Unlike at Fatima, I think, where it was a nun that was under the vow of obedience, I don't think the lay visionaries are probably under the same vow in regards to the Bishop. Zeroturbulence - yes, I have read of similar stories on the Medejuorje site of pilgrims witnessing visions, of conversions and healings there.
I too believe something is going on there and I believe Mary is telling the whole world message from there and it would be good to heed them.
But as you said, this in not a site for Catholics, which is kind of sad really considering the Catholic Church, founded in in the first century AD is one of the longest standing institutions in the world. Pneuma - is it a coincidence that through the centuries, it is the Roman Catholic faith that has saints and I think the only faith that has nuns that have had visions from God, Jesus or the Virgin Mary? Are all these people throughout history crazy?
Are these six people in Bosnia been hallucinating and lying for thirty years? Or that three illiterate shepher children at Fatima were lying of their Virgin Mary apparitions? Try reading the actual stories and reading the messages of these phenomena and see. Are we not all saints, so what makes Paul or Peter or Mary special besides the fact they existed in the life of Jesus not paul for a reason.
Not trying to be mean or anything but Paul even claims himself as a slave a servant Romans 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, and if Paul didn't want to please men, why then does churches talk about him greatly, he wanted to be a servant Galatians For do I now persuade men, catholic chat free God? I didn't offend anyone did i God bless.
Well, if you read the lives of the saints and religious they are not seeking to be glorified. Do you live like a saint with the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self control?
Think of Mother Teresa or any saint, are you really a saint? Some people pray to the Saints not worship them for the intercession in prayers. If your read the messages of the Holy Mother in Medejuorje, she said to imitate the saints by living as they did. First you must know how the saints lived. Can you really say you are a saint? What branch of religion are you anyway?
There are not too many Catholics on here. I provided a website link to a Catholic chat and community site if you are interested. Catholic saints are holy people and human people who lived extraordinary lives. Each saint the Church honors responded to God's invitation to use his or her unique gifts. God calls each one of us to be a saint. Most saints are characterized by either becoming nuns or priests and who gave their lives to Christ and the serving of people in good and charitable works living on vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. But as it says above, even normal people can be considered saints if they do the same type of thing.
Not just a charitable demonstration here and there but their whole lives dedicated to the service of God's word and example. Not an easy thing to do.
AnandaHya Guest Apr 10, I'm a collector of information lol. I can't say I have done a whole lot. I hope to change that though. Feb 9, 2, 39 0. PneumaPsucheSoma said:. MaggieMye Senior Member Apr 10, May 19, 2, 33 0. After becoming born Again, per John God's inerrant written wordI found that a lot of the practices of the RCC were actually pagan practices.
While the RCC does believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again, it practices pagan rituals and beliefs. God tells us in His written word that we cannot have it both ways Mary is DEAD.
She was a normal human being that was blessed of God and chosen by Him to bear His son. She is not immortal.
She had several other children after Jesus. Scripture is the source of all of this information. If you are not being encouraged by your priest to read God's word for yourself, you need to leave that church and find another. God's word can never be overruled by any work of man I know you are sincere But both sincerity and zeal can be deceived. It is that personal relationship and obediecence that affords anyone the priviledge of becoming a t heir with Jesus to the right hand of God at His throne.
